Once upon a time, in a small Central-Eastern European country, the son of the president was kidnapped and later found beaten unconscious in Austria. The investigation led to the highest political circles, including the prime minister himself. When Oskar F., a witness to the kidnapping, broke his silence and started testifying, he had to flee the country as his life was in danger. His only connection to home was best friend Robert R. and young journalist Peter T. A few months later, Robert was killed in a car explosion. The kidnapping case as well as the murder were closed by the former prime minister with the words: “NEVER HAPPENED”. So, what did actually happen? Barbora Berezňáková: “I was not aiming to make a shocking investigative film, but rather to establish the chain of events and show their emotional impact on Oskar and the murdered Robert’s mother”.
