Bologna, 60s. Mimmo is a mischievous boy from a working-class family with vivid musical abilities. His mother, Ernestina, decides to take him to listen to the contest of the children's song "Golden Guild", which takes place within the walls of the brotherhood of Antoniano di Bologna. At the audition, he meets Mariele Ventre, a young music teacher, and this meeting changes his whole life
