Vampires existed in the Greek Mythology long before they appeared in Western culture. Some the vampires entities were Mormolikies, Empouses and Lamia. Legend says that Lamia was one of the daughters of Poseidon and nymph Lybia. And Zeus fell in love with her. But Hera learned about Zeus infidelity and send madness to Lamia. She gave her the lust for blood, the everlasting thirst for human blood. So Lamia fed upon the blood of newborns. She was the first vampire according to the Greek mythology. She was the terror of all, capable of tearing her eyes apart and ready to devour all human blood around her. From Aristiotle to Strabo and Stisichorus, all mention the terror of her deeds and image.
