1991年，VGIK导演Juris Podnieks拍摄了系列纪录片《苏联人》以纪录苏联解体前社会的诸多现象。
"Soviets" gives immediacy to the economic, political, religious and ethnic dema nds now roiling the country. It offers inspiration in th e form of people standing up to state power, but leaves little prospect for a quiet resolution to the clashing passions that have been unloosed by the first breaths of freedom.
